This may be because the painting lacks enough white space.

It's the perfect balance of color and white space,

And the white space in watercolor allows the artwork to "breathe".

Let's talk about a few tips for leaving white space.

1. Plan ahead

Start with a sketch, leaving white space.

If the white is too strong,

You can fill these sections later with a light color.

2. Start less

There is too little white space, and the painting looks lifeless;

There is too much white space and the painting lacks depth.

But if you have to choose a side to make a mistake,

That's better to leave too much white space.

This allows you to add colors at any time afterwards.

And if you paint too much paint first,

It's hard to get it down.

3. From light to dark

Painting from light to dark,

4. Masking tape
